Abstract
The anticipation of alternative futures is not only made possible but also limited within the framework of technology foresight processes. Public foresight processes as a policy-related practice of imagining and anticipating alternative futures often produce limited futures. Radical and disruptive change is rarely reflected in scenarios. The mainstreaming of possible futures towards innovation, employment and growth is the result of processes and actors based, among other things, on specific imaginaries of the public.
